Walnut Spiral Staircase Whitechapel
This Walnut Spiral Staircase was supplied to a domestic client in Whitechapel, London. Our customer had an upper floor flat and wanted direct access to the roof to be able to use the outdoor space more frequently.
The model 71 spiral staircase is a bespoke spiral. It is constructed with circular barrels which slid over the centre column and separate the solid wooden treads The centre column which is hidden on completion has a steel column running up the middle giving the entire spiral staircase stability.
The wood available for this stunning spiral staircase in always hardwood for strength :- Beech, Oak, Ash, Maple, Birch & Walnut
The balustrade wrapping around the perimeter of the spiral is formed with :- Vertical Steel Spindles, Horizontal steel rails, Curved acrylic panels, Curved Glass Panels, Curved Perforated Steel Panels
The handrail and newel posts on the Model 71 spiral staircase are formed in timber or steel to match rest of the materials. The steel tends to be either brushed or polished stainless steel or powder coated. The wood is either oiled, varnished or stained in the factory and sometime left untreated to be stained on site.
Each Model 71 spiral staircase supplied is a one off. The spiral is drawn carefully to make sure the enter and exit point is correct and there are no headroom issues. As the spiral is bespoke, the platform can be made to suit the opening if needed and the overall outer diameter of the spiral can supplied upto 2200mm.
